What is Spatha?
Spatha is a world pitch I created during the summer between my first and second years of university.
The focus behind the world is swords. I was heavily inspired by the valyrian steel swords from A Song Of Ice And Fire and took the concept and applied it to a whole world/culture as I thought it would lend well to an RPG style game and open many different avenues for game mechanics, particularly combat.
In Spatha each noble house posseses a unique enchanted sword which are almost characters in their own right, as their weilder takes on the name of said sword. I decided on this as i think it presents an interesting question of nature vs nurture, if a person is personified by an object with thousands of years of history, how would this affect their personality?
Each house having a different sword and history also allows for different gameplay mechanics, such as moral alignments and matching enchantments.
