What is Yggdrasil?

You are a Viking exploring the surrounding lands connected together by the roots of world tree, Yggdrasil. But if you die, a descendant of yours with slightly different stats will embark on the same quest as their ancestor in an attempt to reconnect with their familial roots, and you play as them instead.

My Contribution - Level Design & Art:

I came up with the idea to make a game based on the nordic world tree, based on the games jam theme of 'Roots', and we decided to use it as we felt it was a unique take on the theme that was unlikely to be done otherwise.

I also made the character and item sprites for the game, such as the weapons and healing items. A few environment sprites were also made by me.

With these i designed both of the levels for our game, consisting of forest environments with two small huts and a path that leads the player to different combat instances and is scattered with healing items they can use to recover.
